I had the pleasure of being invited to go on the Macomb Audubon Field Trip at the Moo today led by Jim Fowler. It was a very nice morning. There is lots of water at Pointe Mouillee and not much shorebird habitat… what shorebirds we did see, we saw at a fairly long distance away.. A scope was needed. So no good photos… Highlights of the day included approx 55 White Pelicans, Marbled Godwit, American Avocet, Wilson’s Phalarope, Snowy Egret, Black-bellied Plovers and a couple of Peregrine Falcons. There were also Northern Harriers, Osprey and Bald Eagles.
