Buff-breasted Sandpiper – Lk St. Clair Metropark

I am gonna take Tom and Kevin out to dinner before the end of this year… They have let me know of so many birds lately that I am very, very grateful… Today I got a text from Kevin informing me that a Buff-breasted Sandpiper (220) was at Lk St. Clair Metropark (found by Tom Heatley)…. This was in the morning and boy was I stressed… I was totally swamped at work with no opportunity to get away…. I sent Kevin a text and told him to tie a rock to its leg so it would be there when I got off….  So, I had to wait until the end of my work day and headed to the beach… Thankfully it was still there!!!   I managed to relocate it with Kevin and snapped a few photos and left it alone… I am sure a few more people were gonna head that way and I did not want to scare it off….  Two years in a row that one of these has shown up at Metro… pretty sweet…. Unfortunately the sun was on the wrong angle and the buffiness is sort of washed out, but still managed some decent pics…..
