Crazy week – not much time for birding

I got back from vacation and have been going crazy with work… only chance I have had to bird is a few minutes after work here and there… I did see something very strange at Stony Creek Metropark… A Cliff Swallow apparently hung itself on a piece of string that was probably used to build its nest… Not really sure… very bizarre… I found a Savannah Sparrow in the rain who was finding grubs, one after another, and taking them to his nest… He was an impressive little hunter… I also found 3 Turkey Vultures sitting in a field in the rainy weather, hanging out near the road… Hard to believe when they are soaring overhead that they can look so creepy… (I know, some of you think they are cool looking..)….  I did manage to see and hear a Black-billed Cuckoo at Wetzel State Park in the parking lot area off of 27 mi rd… this is a great spot to find Cuckoos… Look forward to birding this weekend…
