The New Year….

I haven’t posted recently… I’ve been super busy. However I have gotten a chance to get out and bird, mostly in Macomb County. We have a Mockingbird hanging around in Ray Twp that was found by Joanna Pease on the CBC this year… There is an abundance of berries at 28mi and Wolcott where its been hanging so I think it will stick around until its food source is gone… There is a smattering of Snow Buntings in the county but I have not been able to locate a Lapland Longspur yet for the new year… Rough-legged Hawks and Northern Shrikes are around and are being reported by multiple people. A Red-shouldered Hawk was found by Andrea Meldrum at LSCMP. Pine Siskins have been making there rounds at feeders but no sign of common Redpolls as of yet…. Today I got a call from Tom Hince. He and Kathi were out birding and found a juvenile Iceland Gull in a parking lot in Richmond. A very tame bird who allowed for some close up photos…
